Korean Fried Chicken

Ingredients

  • some gochujang

  • some soy sauce

  • some rice vinegar

  • some honey

  • some ginger

  • some garlic

  • some sesame oil

  • some flour

  • some cornstarch

  • some salt

  • some water

  • some chicken

  • some oil

  • some sesame seeds

  • some green onions

Directions

  • Start by making the sauce in a bowl. Combine gochujang, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, ginger, garlic and sesame oil in the bowl and whisk until smooth.

  • In a separate bowl, add flour, cornstarch, and salt. Whisk to combine with water until a smooth batter.

  • Cut up chicken into bite-sized pieces.

  • Dip the chicken in the batter until all coated. Optionally add a little bit of the sauce to the batter, although most of it should be saved for later.

  • Fry the chicken in oil until crispy.

  • Dry some of the oil off the chicken with paper towels.

  • Add chicken to a bowl and then pour the sauce over the chicken.

  • Top with sesame seeds and green onions.
