Vanilla Slice
Basically just custard with pastry and icing on top
Ingredients
2 sheets puff pasty
2/3 cup caster sugar
2/3 cup custard powder
4 cups milk
4 tsp vanilla essence
300ml thickened cream
1 cup icing sugar
1 tsp vanilla
some hot water
Directions
Prick puff pasty with a fork and bake for 10-15 minutes at 220C
Make the custard with caster sugar custard powder milk vanilla essence
Let everything cool slightly
Beat thickened cream and add to custard
Place in a square tin, pastry, custard, pastry
Make icing with icing sugar vanilla hot water and put on top
Put in the frige to set
